Founded by Miss Carol Lee, Musical Kidz Studio is dedicated and enthusiastic in vocal singing education and performing arts for children and teens.


Musical Kidz Studio provides professional vocal training, group singing classes, audition and competition training, Hong Kong School Music Festival preparation and ABRSM examination courses. All our staff members are highly experienced teachers and professional performers in Hong Kong.

With our love of kids and passion for music, we aim to provide our children with maximum exposure to musical theatre and performing arts. ‘Kidz’ as young as 2 years old can benefit from the students’ recitals, concerts, performances and a variety of musical productions, which are conducted regularly all-year-round! Students can also learn from professional stage acting and record music for advertising and film productions.

MISS CAROL LEE

MUSIC DIRECTOR

Founder and music director at Musical Kidz Studio, an active mezzo-soprano at local music halls, graduated from HKAPA majoring in voice.

​

In 2005, she attained distinction in LTCL recital in voice and Peter Thomson Scholarship. She was featured in various opera productions, including Amastre in ‘Serse’, Dorabella in ‘Così fan Tutte’, Brambilla in ‘la Périchole’ and Edith in ‘Pirate of Penzance’.

​

Carol is the conductor and educator at St. Paul’s Convent School Junior Choir, and led the choir to various overseas performances and achieved numerous prizes in Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. She is also the vocal coach at Ho Tung Secondary School vocal class and the Hong Kong Children’s Choir. Carol was appointed as the principal singing coach and assistant director in Summer school at the Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus, she has led the children chorus to perform in numerous operas and musicals since 2008, productions include ‘Werther’, ‘la Bohème’, ‘Carmen’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘the Music Man Jr.’, ‘the Magic Flute’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof Jr.’ and ‘Tosca’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’ …etc.

Mr Aaron Kwan

Aaron Kwan - baritone, learning from Ms. Ivy Mak. He graduated from HKU, specialising in Classical Singing. He participated in a wide range of art forms, from operas, musicals, A Capella to pop songs. He has won the Champion of The Hong Kong Youth Professional Music Competition 2017 by HKMADA. Aaron has performed in famed operas, such as ‘Carmen’, ‘Aida’, ‘Otello’ and ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’ in Opera Hong Kong chorus, working with international classical singers.

Aaron is also an experienced musical performer. Singing and acting for over 80 performance, he developed the capability to act as multiple roles in one musical. His performance in front of thousands of audiences in the HK Coliseum in Lamusical - the concert of legendary pop singer George Lam in musical format - marked the milestone of his musical career. He acted as principal roles as well as chorus and ensembles in musicals ‘Our Journal of Springtime’ and ‘Fly Bao to the Moon’ along with star actors such as Emily Kwan, Ram Chiang and Angus Chan, Scar in ‘Lion King’ by Musical Kidz Studio, principal and ensemble in ‘Tale of Southern Sky’ (by Actor’s Family), ‘Grease’, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and other productions.

Aaron’s musical talents extend to music writing. His recent works include the A Capella version of Joseph Koo’s and Eric Kwok’s ‘Sail On’, which was premiered in the opening ceremony Central -Wan Chai Bypass, SATB version of Sir Edward Elgar’s ‘The Snow’, instrumental works Yearning and Marching towards you for dramas, wedding and other ceremonial occasions.

Aaron is now working as a singing teacher and choral conductor at schools and as tutor in Musical Kidz Studio.

Miss Erica graduated from the Hong Kong Education University in 2014 with Master of Music Education and Hong Kong Baptist University in 2006 with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music.


Erica has over 10 years’ experience of early childhood music education and has successfully obtained Orff Schulwerk Certificate Level I (Canada), Level II (USA), Level III and Level IV (Australia). Erica has a passion for teaching, and a strong perception on and understanding of childhood behaviours. She uses an innovative, dynamic approach to coach students in a friendly atmosphere.

Under the tutelage of Madam Ella Kiang, soprano Eva Chi obtained her Bachelor’s Degree of Music (Honours) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2015. She is active in participating opera productions including Opera Hong Kong's production, ‘Der Fliegende Holländer’, ‘Tosca’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘The Cunning Little Vixen’ in HKAPA.

 

She made her Europe debut performance at the Bach's Cantata bwv 199 concert in Utrecht, the Netherlands in November, 2017 while she was studying in Utrechts Conservatorium in Utrecht, the Netherlands with Dutch soprano, Selma Harkink. Eva’s recent performances in 2019 include Hong Kong Art Festival Plus’ ‘Journey to the West’ and Cantabile’s ‘Cantabile con amore’.

Miss Eva Chi

Tenor Freddie Tsang is currently studying voice at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of tenor David Quah. He also sang Masterclasses by Francisco Araiza and Mario Diaz. He has performed in several operas including Die Zauberflöte, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Dream of the Red Chamber, Turandot and Carmen.

Mr Freddie Tsang

Royce began playing the piano when he was 4, and the violin when he was 9. He switched to viola a year later and has been captivated by it ever since. Royce was a frequent attendee of Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals for both instruments, achieving great results every time. He graduated from Royal College of Music with a Bachelor in Music, majoring in Viola and serves as assistant principal in ESF Orchestra in 2012. Over the years he has been part of various orchestral projects including the Royal College Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra, performing in venues like Buckingham Palace and the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, under esteemed conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Peter Stark and Vladimir Jurowski. Royce had taken part in masterclasses by Maxim Vengerov and Andrey Ponochevny and had a number of solo recitals in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Aside from classical music, he was also keen on working with international projects such as Infinity Bridge; bringing musicians together from across the world through virtual reality. Royce is also passionate about teaching and works as a freelance accompanist and music teacher since graduation.

Mr Royce Chen

Silvia graduated from Sir Robert Black College of Education. Major in Music and Mathematics. She is the founder of Hong Kong Dalcroze Society which organised Dalcroze workshops for students, teachers and parents for the past 11 years. Silvia completed the level 4 course of professional studies and practical training from Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk (ANCOS). She is also a member of the mentoring program of ANCOS which is doing the “train the trainers “

program of Orff Schulwerk music training. Silvia is actively participating in music trainings and workshops all over the world.

Miss Silvia Lam

Studying composition with Mr. Law Wing Fai, Tony graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and obtained his Bachelor in Music (BMus) majoring Composition and Electronic music. He is working with the Academy as dance accompanist and playing occasionally for other schools and companies. Besides, Tony is studying vocal with David Quah and takes part in his Bel Canto Ensemble as bass/baritone, where he co-composed the musical “Happy Prince and the Fourth Wiseman” with David Quah as his most recent work.

Mr Tony Lam

HKU Piano Pedagogy and Performance and Australian Board of Music in Piano Pedagogy. She has a solid background in Music Education, studied piano with Emeritus Professor Edward Ho, former examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Ms Wong Tak Lun, former Chairman of the Music subcommittee of the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association. Vanessa has been teaching in the UK, Canada and Hong Kong and her students have received distinctive results with numerous awards in exams and competitions. Her wide-ranging expertise on tutoring practical and theory program for some well-known institutes and schools, provides music lessons for individuals and groups of all ages. She is an active accompanist, enthusiastic in coaching students for recital, concerts, exams and competitions.
